Pakyaw! Its a Big Deal!

With the economic crisis the Philippines is experiencing, everyone is looking for a way to save a peso or two. Recently, I discovered the wonderful world of group buying! They offer great deals for a certain amount of days for 50% or more! You get to visit the places you only wish to visit. There are a few group buying sites that have set up office here in the Philippines. I still need to try buying from them to get a feel for these kinds of sites.

As far as I know these are the sites that are currently featuring some deals:

These are the others that I have no idea if they're under renovation, maintenance, or just closed

Here are some of the newest group buying sites that are to offer some great deals soon:

From all the new ones, I'm going to keep a close eye on Pakyaw.com.ph. It has one awesome launching promo! They're actually giving away an Ipad, Nintendo Wii, Macbook, and a Flat Screen TV! If they're giving away those kinds of prizes, I bet they're going to feature some awesome deals! The first deal goes live on February 1! Gonna mark my calendar for that day!

To get a car I need Receipts!

Just a few weeks ago I got my drivers license. Oh yeah! The only problem is, I still don't have anything to drive. Anyways, I'm itching to start driving and asked my parents if we were to buy a car anytime soon. Unfortunately, the answer was no since they still need to save. So a few weeks ago, I noticed that 7-11 had a promo. Basically you need to buy 50 pesos worth of products and in your receipt you get a picture puzzle. You need to get all three pieces of the puzzle with the same brand logo in order to win. The first time I saw the promo, I didn't notice that I needed to have three tickets of the same brand. So, when I got three puzzle pieces for a brand new car, I instinctively ran to the nearest 7-11 to ask if what I got was valid. Apparently, my excitement was extingused when I found out that the brand in the three puzzle pieces weren't the same. @_@ bummer. When I got home I told my parents that it was a false alarm. It was then that I decided that I was going to try to get all three puzzle pieces with the same brand logo to win a Ford Fiesta! No harm in trying! With the help from my brother and sister and some friends, my hunt for the correct pieces has started! Good Luck to me and to everyone trying to win a brand new car. For those who want to join the promo here's the link to the mechanics: http://www.7-eleven.com.ph/announcements.php?announcement_id=31. ^^

Social Networking at its finest

OMG! Who ever predicted that we would be able to catch up with long lost friends through the internet. Social networking is truly one of the wonders of the world wide web. MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Multiply, Twitter and other sites have given us the power to search for lost relatives, meet new people, and even become entrepreneurs. It has also given the youth the ability to become outspoken and be involved with current affairs. Even I'm becoming active in discussions regarding present issues. Not only that, users have seen it as a way to start a business! They just didn't see it as a way to connect with people they know but a way to attract potential customers. Big time companies are now taking advantage of the popularity of these sites and use it to promote their products. Brilliant! Now, hundreds use social networks to sell clothes, gadgets, food and slimming products. So, if you want to catch up with friends, find family or even set up a business, try creating an account. You may be surprised what social networking is capable of. Just be careful with information you put in your profile. Who knows whose taking a peek at your profile! I'm just saying. ♥♥♥
